Why Do Prices Change Daily?

As of July 2026, the government has adopted a system for the daily review of prices. Previously, price revisions were conducted every 15 days and, subsequently, on a weekly basis. Now, OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) announces new ex-depot prices on a daily basis.

The daily price is determined based on the average price in international markets over the preceding seven days. Prices announced on Friday remain in effect through Saturday and Sunday. This system was introduced because oil prices in international markets have been experiencing rapid fluctuations following tensions in the Middle East.

Relief for Bikes, Rickshaws and Small Cars

In view of rising petrol prices, the Government of Pakistan has announced a special relief scheme offering a subsidy of Rs 100 per litre for motorcyclists and owners of vehicles with engine capacities of up to 800cc. Under this proposal, owners of two-wheeled vehicles can receive a subsidy for up to 20 litres of fuel, while owners of small vehicles can receive a maximum benefit of Rs 2,000. Motorcyclists are permitted to use up to four tokens per month.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the petrol price in Pakistan today?

The petrol price today, effective 6 November 2026, is Rs 352.59 per litre, and high-speed diesel is Rs 382.25 per litre.

How often do petrol prices change in Pakistan?

Prices are now revised daily by OGRA under the daily review mechanism that started in July 2026. Friday’s price continues on Saturday and Sunday.

Why did the price go up or down today?

Daily changes follow international oil prices — the rate is set using the seven-day average of world market prices, so a rise or fall abroad shows up at Pakistani pumps within days.

Is the petrol price the same in all cities?

Yes. The notified ex-depot price is uniform across Pakistan, so the per-litre rate is the same in every city.
