Punjab Takes Notice of Private Schools According to reports, approximately 40 percent of schools in the Rawalpindi district are violating the winter timings prescribed by the Punjab School Education Department, despite repeated warnings issued by the authorities. Action will soon be taken against these violations.

The Punjab government has set the opening time for schools at 8:45 AM and the closing time at 1:30 PM. However, many private schools are disregarding this official notification, opening at 7:30 AM and closing at 2:00 PM. Preparations are now underway to launch a crackdown against the schools that are in violation of these directives.

Punjab Acts Over Winter Timing Violations

As winter approaches, the government has introduced a revised schedule to protect students from the cold during the morning hours. Many are currently suffering from seasonal illnesses.

These ailments include the common cold, a runny nose, and persistent coughing. Taking note of violations, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the relevant department to ensure strict compliance with the revised timings. She has also ordered action to be taken against schools that fail to comply.

According to available data, approximately seven business schools are following the new schedule, while other institutions continue to disregard the directives. Parents have urged the authorities to ensure full compliance with these guidelines so that children’s health is not compromised. It has been emphasized that all institutions must adhere to the schedule issued by the government.

Departmental officials have confirmed that some schools are still violating the prescribed timings. They stated that the department will begin registering FIRs against institutions that fail to comply with the official notification. It has been further clarified that schools continuing to disregard these directives will not be given any further leniency; instead, strict action will be taken against them. The enforcement of the notification has now begun in earnest.
